Heat-as-a-Service

Finance your new Heat Pump installation with no upfront capital investment. We can design, build, install, finance and maintain your new asset, all under one roof.

Our Heat-as-a-Service agreement allows you to install a new Heat Pump on your site, with no upfront costs. Instead, you’ll pay a monthly fee for your new asset.

This gives you long-term predictability over your energy costs; and allows your business to benefit from a new Heat Pump, even if you don’t have the budget to pay for one upfront right now.

Financing your new Commercial Heat Pump

This is a direct agreement that’s funded by Centrica itself. No other parties or banks will be involved, helping you to keep your investment simple.

There are a few different options on how you pay for your new Heat Pump installation. Each method usually runs for around 7 – 15 years, but can run for up to 25 years if certain conditions are met. Your three options are:

  • Pay a set p/kWh fee for the heat your business uses - For all heat that’s used, you’ll pay a set p/kWh fee (indexed annually). We’ll agree a minimum consumption level. If you use less heat than that level, you’ll pay a set amount.
  • Pay a fixed monthly fee – We’ll agree a fixed amount that you’ll pay on a monthly basis (indexed annually), no matter how much heat your business uses.
  • Hybrid approach – You’ll pay a fixed fee per month over an agreed number of years, allowing a reduced p/kWh fee for the term of the agreement.

Maintenance included as standard

Your Heat-as-a-Service agreement will also include ongoing Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for your Heat Pump. Regular servicing is critical, to ensure your organisation is getting the heat and environmental benefits you expect. These encompass:

  • An ongoing, regular schedule of preventative maintenance, to help reduce the risk of faults and outages
  • Rapid reactive maintenance services, to ensure a speedy resolution is found should a fault occur
  • Remote monitoring services, to continually monitor your Heat Pump’s performance.

Why choose a Heat Pump?

As a low-or-zero carbon solution, Heat Pumps can provide heating from 40°C up to 165°C. We offer five different types of Heat Pump to suit a range of different business objectives, budgets and site requirements: air-source, ground-source, water-source, waste heat-source and cascade.

They don’t emit any direct emissions, significantly reducing or replacing an organisation’s need to burn fossil fuels on-site. Heat Pumps can reduce your carbon emissions by up to 66%, compared to a gas boiler. As renewables on the grid grow, Heat Pumps will become cleaner to run and their carbon impact will reduce. If Solar PV is used to power the Heat Pump completely, then the Heat Pump can be considered carbon neutral.
