REstore win Grid Edge Innovation Award

The Grid Edge Innovations Awards recognises REstore as a key player that is shaping the future of the electric grid.

The Centrica-owned company is one of 10 recipients of a prestigious Grid Edge Innovation Award

The world of power and energy is competitive and is significant in improving how people live their lives.

The Grid Edge Innovations Awards is a key element of the annual Grid Edge Innovation Summit. It shines a spotlight on the companies, people and technologies that are leading the way when it comes to shaping tomorrow's distributed energy systems.

It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce that REstore, Europe’s leading demand response aggregator, has been declared a 2018 winner, along with nine other deserving candidates.

What is REstore?

Incorporated into Centrica Business Solutions towards the end of 2017, REstore has established itself as a specialist in Demand Side Management.

REstore provides its software solution FlexPond to over 150 of Europe’s most significant energy users and has been identified as a winner due to its unique capabilities in high-value reserve markets, requiring fast response with sub-second response time.

The awards themselves are voted on by authoritative energy industry stakeholders. To be nominated, entrants must be involved in developing and progressing innovative grid edge technologies, with the winners identified as offering particularly inspiring solutions to the technical, business and regulatory challenges associated with distributed energy integration.

Current affairs

This year’s Grid Edge Innovation Summit — taking place June 20-21 in San Francisco, California — celebrates top talent and expertise from around the world of distributed energy. With the global population continuing to rise, there is a growing need for technologies and processes that can enhance grid efficiency and management.

The Summit will focus on emerging and transformative technologies, and how innovative ideas and concepts are transforming operations.

The event’s awards ceremony has been established to showcase organisations that are going above and beyond to enhance and improve the grid, and set standards that other companies should aspire to achieve.
