We outline three ways manufacturing is leading the energy transition, and three ways it’s being left behind.
Manufacturers are at a pivotal moment. They face the full force of the energy transition - intense global competition, volatile energy prices, rising emissions, and a critical need for reliable power to keep production moving.
Some are stepping up as pioneers, turning energy from a cost burden into a strategic advantage that fuels resilience and competitiveness.
Yet many are falling behind. Grid constraints, tight budgets, and other structural challenges are holding them back from realising their full potential in the race to net zero.
We surveyed 500 businesses from across Europe, 125 of which were from the manufacturing sector, in this report we outline three ways manufacturers are leading energy transition, along with highlighting three ways it's being left behind.
