Helping the NHS to improve patient care and deliver with their decarbonisation strategy, by making their operations more cost-effective and resilient.
The NHS is a major contributor to the UK’s carbon footprint, creating around 4-5% of the country’s carbon emissions.1
Without effective action, climate change will have profound implications for the health and wellbeing of the UK’s population; the smooth delivery of our health and social care services; and the management of critical infrastructure.
The Delivering a ‘Net Zero’ National Health Service report laid out the NHS’s national decarbonisation strategy. It set a clear goal of becoming the world’s first net zero national health service, by becoming net zero across Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2040 and across Scope 3 emissions by 2045.
