The Challenge

Leo Pharma is an established leader in the Irish healthcare market in a number of key therapeutic areas such as dermatology and coagulation. The site in Crumlin has been in operation since 1961. In 2011, LEO Pharma decided to install a high efficiency trigeneration system on-site, to reduce energy costs and minimise site CO2 emissions.

The Solution

Selected as a highly efficient energy solution provider to supply and install a trigeneration system including:

  • 1,166kWe gas fired engine
  • 540kWth heat recovery steam generator
  • 350kWc absorption chiller

Full Turnkey scope of supply, from fuel input to electricity, heat and chilled water outputs. The system supports site resilience for heat, cooling and power.

The project was run in an efficient manner and on schedule, we have found all of the staff highly competent and focused on getting the best result for our application.
